anna beeke is a documentary and event photographer based out of brooklyn, new york. she is a graduate of the international center of photography's 2009 photojournalism and documentary photography program and has also attended photography workshops in the czech republic and finland. in 2007, she received her BA in english from oberlin college in oberlin, ohio.


anna's work has been exhibited at the musee de l'elysee in lausanne, international center of photography in manhattan, charles university in prague,  pingyao international photography festival in china, arles photography festival in france, and at the michaelis galleries in cape town. anna was selected as a participant in the eddie adams workshop 2009 and her work was chosen to be included "reGeneration2: tomorrow's photographers today,"  an exhibition by the musée de l' elysée which will travel the world from 2010 to 2015. she was a recipient of the too much chocolate + kodak film grant, and most recently, anna beeke and alia kate won third place runner up for the photocrati fund grant for their proposal for "untangling threads."

alia kate is the founder of kantara: moroccan rugs, a fair trade company that imports high-end handwoven rugs directly from women artisans in morocco. she has been involved in morocco since 2005 and is committed to supporting the work of rural women artisans.


alia is based in new york where she made her curatorial debut with “untangling threads.” with two exhibits that rolled out in december 2010, alia continues to expand the project to interested schools, galleries, and museums throughout 2011 before bringing the project full circle, back to morocco in a display at tangier’s mohammed drissi gallery in september 2013.
